George Santos Expelled from U.S. House in Overwhelming Vote, 11 Months After Swearing-In

WASHINGTON – (WBAP/KLIF) – George Santos has been expelled from the U.S. House of Representatives in an exceedingly rare move reserved for serious misconduct. The vote Friday, 311-114; the first term Republcan only the sixth of more than 11,000 U.S. representatives in history to be ousted from the lower chamber of Congress

Santos has been mired in controversy with one story after another popped up about him lying about his past, his family, allegations of fraud, and allegations of unwanted sexual advances. Santos was hit with a 23-count federal indictment this year featuring a variety of theft and fraud charges related to his congressional campaign. Santos pleaded not guilty to each of the criminal charges, and has not yet gone to trial.

The House Ethics Commitee delivered the final blow with a report dated November 16, summarizing: “At nearly every opportunity, he placed his desire for private gain above his duty to uphold the Constitution, federal law, ane ethical principles.
