Texas GOP Rep Called on Fmr. President Trump to ‘call off’ His Supporters; Also Talks ERCOT & Stimulus [WATCH]

Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – A congressional subcommittee is now investigating last month’s power crisis in Texas.

Texas U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R/TX 10th District), who does not sit on the committee suggested that at the federal level, Congress could suggest “creative ways to winterize‘ the Texas power grid.

Rep. McCaul told WFAA’s ‘Inside Texas Politics’ that both tax payers and private industry should foot the bill, saying that it will become a way of doing business in Texas. McCaull also believes that Texas should be able to tap into another power grid in an emergency.

Meantime, amid a threat against the U.S. Capitol last week, McCaul, a ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee said that it is the “duty of former President Donald Trump to call off his supporters and tell them to stand down.”

Commenting also says that a new threat targets next month’s ‘State of the Union Address. ‘ After that, he added that he’s hoping for a decrease in security at the Capitol, He said that any decision would be threat-based.”

McCaul also voted against the House version of the latest COVID relief package, saying it is too big.
