Funds Available For Displaced Texas Workers and Colleges Students to ‘Re-skill’ or ‘Up-skill’

Austin, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – In an effort to help displaced workers in the Texas, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently doled out over $18-million to 49 colleges and universities across the state, for the “Texas ‘Re-skilling Support Grant Program.”

It was the first phase of funding targeted for those who may need to “re-skill” or “up-skill” in order to find new employment.

The grants are also available to Texas students who previously stepped away from college without completing a post-secondary degree.

Applications are being taken for second round of funding through January 15th.
