Transgender Woman Found Dead, Same Woman Who Was Brutally Beaten Last Month

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – According to a statement from Dallas Police, a transgender woman found dead on Saturday, is the same woman whose brutal beating at an Oak Cliff apartment complex last month, was caught on video. Major Vincent Weddington with DPD said “the Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting call at 7200 Valley Glen Drive. Upon arrival, officers found the complainant lying face down in the street deceased from homicidal violence.” The body was found about 6:40a.m. Saturday morning.

The brutal attack on Booker near an Oak Cliff apartment complex last month was caught on video & quickly went viral. “In the original offense that occurred on April 12th, there were several people seen on the Facebook video assaulting Muhlaysia Booker. We’ve made one arrest and we’re still attempting to identify other people that were seen assaulting Muhlaysia in the video, said Weddington.”

29 Year old Edward Thomas, was arrested for felony assault for his role in the April attack, but Thomas was subsequently released on bond. During a Press Conference on Sunday, Weddington said “Edward Thomas is currently not in the Dallas County Jail and we are unaware of his whereabouts. When asked “Do you have any reason to believe that he (Thomas) is connected, Mr. Weddington said “There is nothing at this time to connect Mr. Edward Thomas and the offense that occurred yesterday (Saturday).”
