Winter Weather Storm Watch in North Texas

FORT WORTH – WBAP/KLIF –  A winter storm watch is expected to be issued for North Texas and the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex by or on Friday.  A massive winter storm that will bring as much as six inches of snow along the I-40 corridor from eastern New Mexico east to Oklahoma City.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex could see as much as 2 to 3 inches of rain during this weather event, which will begin Thursday with rainfall.  Heavy rain is expected on Friday through Friday evening.  The National Weather service says Metroplex flood watch postings are expected in the DFW area, especially on Friday, because the ground is already saturated and runoff is likely.

Wholly saturated Central Texas may see weather related problems again as that area is expected to receive up to 6 inches of precipitation.

In the Panhandle, there’s a possibility of freezing rain and snowfall.
