Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban to Pay Millions Following NBA Investigation

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban has agreed to contribute $10 million to women’s causes after an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against the organization.

According to the report,  the league found serious workplace misconduct by former and current employees. A Sports Illustrated article published earlier this year revealed allegations of sexual harassment by the team’s former President Terdema Ussery.

The sanctions reportedly include requiring the team to make changes to policy to improve the workplace culture. Cuban told ESPN’S “THE JUMP” that he was not aware of the workplace culture because he focused on the team aspect of the business.

Special Counsel Anne Milgram led the investigation and detailed the report Wednesday.

“There were two women who came forward to report that he had engaged in forcible kissing,” said Milgram. “There were times that employees said that he reportedly touched them on their thighs.”

Milgram named former Executive Chris Hyde as an employee accused of sexual assault. Former Mavs.com writer Earl Sneed was also named in the report. He was charged with Domestic Abuse but not fired until the Sports Illustrated article was released.

Newly hired CEO Cynthia Marshall said Wednesday the culture within the organization is changing.

“We are well on our way to transforming the culture of the Dallas Mavericks,” said Marshall. “The culture that is painstakingly described in the report.”
