Texas To Set New Electricity Demand Records

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The manager of the Texas electric grid predicts the system will set new demand records Monday and Tuesday. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) says conditions are such that we will set a new record Monday afternoon, then break it Tuesday evening. Peak demand will coincide with tightest supply, however ERCOT also notes solar generated electricity capacity has grown dramatically over the last two years, so it says the system will have enough to deal with the strain.
