West Palm Beach, Florida (WBAP/KLIF) – The presiding judge in former President Donald Trump’s trial on obstruction of justice and mishandling classified documents charges has set an August 14 trial date. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon posted it to her court docket Tuesday morning.it is not likely the trial will actually start on that date. Negotiations between Trump’s lawyers and the Justice Department are expected to delay the process more than the two months the judge has allowed. Judge Cannon also called for the trial to take place in the Fort Pierce, Florida, federal courthouse, not in Miami where Trump was arraigned. Trump is facing 37 criminal counts accusing him of illegally possessing classified materials that were found in an FBI search of his Mar A Lago residence.
