Trump Even Praises ‘Fair’ Coverage by ‘Fake News’

President Donald Trump on Thursday applauded what he described as unusually “fair” reporting from outlets he has long labeled “fake news,” as he declared breaking news of “peace in the Middle East” during a Cabinet meeting Thursday at the White House.

“There’s tremendous spirit like I haven’t seen,” Trump said from the Cabinet Room after announcing the pending full release of hostages and a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Trump, noting the media had covered the breakthrough “very well” and “very fairly.”

“Even the news — I won’t call it fake news for this purpose because they really were very fair today, I must tell you, in all cases,” Trump said. “But they covered it very well. They covered it very fairly.
