DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas salon opened Friday for haircuts and nail care despite state and county coronavirus restrictions preventing it from operating.
Shelley Luther is the owner of Salon A La Mode in North Dallas and said Friday she reopened because her business is desperate to survive after being shut down for over a month. She was cited by the City of Dallas and issued a cease and desist letter by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins but maintained she would stay open.

“I’m not closing,” Luther said when asked if she thought she’d be cited again. “How much paper do they have?”
The city citation requires Luther to appear before a Judge and the county orders threatens further enforcement.
Dozens of North Texans stood outside Luther’s business Friday supporting her decision to reopen and said they will stand with her throughout her fight.
