Man in Custody After SWAT Standoff in Arlington

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- A man is now in custody after firing multiple shots at Arlington Police and SWAT and barricading himself inside an Arlington home.

It all happened Friday night at around 6:30, when officers were called to the 3000 block of San Martin Drive in Arlington. SWAT was also called in after the suspect barricaded himself inside the home.

Officers say the suspect fired several rounds from his rifle before the stand off ended at around 8 pm, when the man stepped out of the house with his hands up and was taken into custody.

Over 30 people in the nearby homes were forced to shelter at a nearby park as the incident occurred.

Police say the suspect will be charged with all crimes possible.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
