(WBAP/KLIF) — The Denton State Supported Living Center is coming under fire from employees claiming they were forced to care for COVID-19 infected patients or turn in their resignation. Former employee Bukola Amodu has an underlying health condition and was given the ultimatum when she wouldn’t care for infected residents.
Amodu resigned due to the high health risks, but feels the care facility shouldn’t threaten employee jobs because they won’t risk their own health. 50 residents and 43 staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus.
Another former employee says he was forced to leave his jobs because he wouldn’t work with COVID-19 positive residents and said his supervisor forced him to quit. The man, who asked for anonymity, says the $12 an hour job wasn’t worth the health danger. Meanwhile, WFAA says facility management asserts employees were not in any way asked to resign.
