Dallas County Issues New Nursing Home Rules

DALLAS COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- The Coronavirus continues to spread across Dallas County and particular hot spots include local nursing homes.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has put into place new measures effecting the health carew workers and other employees of nursing homes. All employees are required to wear masks at all times. They will also be required to do temperature and symptom checks before each shift

“That must be done on sight that is not something we’re going to take your word for at home,” said Jenkins.

Health care workers and employees are also not permitted to work at multiple nursing homes if there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19. If a case is confirmed the nursing home is then shut off to new admissions.

Senior citizens at high risk for COVID-19. Judge Clay Jenkins encourages families to pull loved ones out of nursing homes if they can. But this will require the entire family to be quarantined.
