FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Starting at Monday at 5 A.M, Cook’s Children hospital in Fort Worth will be changing its visitation policy in response to the threat of COVID-19.
Only two primary caregivers per patient will be allowed inside the medical center. Siblings and other visitors will not be allowed to enter. Visitation hours now begin at 7 P.M. and the public is only allowed to enter through the emergency department or the Pruitt Street entrance.
In addition to this, the hospital is now forcing anyone that is not an employee to be screened for COVID-19 exposure before entering the building.
These measures will be in place for the foreseeable future.
The Hospital released a statement saying,
“We know these measures may pose a great inconvenience to patients, caregivers, staff and many others who touch the Cook Children’s organization. As always, the health and safety of our patients is our highest priority and we are taking these steps out of an abundance of caution. It is
vitally important that we protect our patients from COVID-19, as well as our workforce.”
The hospital has now also canceled any event or meeting that would bring in outside visitors for the next 30 days.
