DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department is in touch with Federal partners following this week’s killing of Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani. President Trump ordered the deadly airstrike.
“While U.S. interests abroad are likely at greater risk following the killing of Qasem Soleimani overnight, we are in touch with our local, state and federal partners to monitor and protect local interests here in Dallas,” Major Max Geron said Friday.
Geron said there are no credible threats in North Texas as of Friday morning.
“We want the public to know that we maintain these partnerships and this line of communication in ways that you don’t necessarily see in other regions around the country,” said Geron. “And it’s because of the quality of cooperation and communication that we share.”
According to Geron, there is an extra sense of awareness in the wake of the airstrike.
“We work to be as prepared as we can and keep things in perspective and enact an appropriate response,” Geron said.
Dallas Police will continue to work with the FBI and other Federal partners to monitor the situation overseas.
