Former Dallas Councilman Indicted on Third-Degree Felony in Connection with Scooter Crash

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- Former Dallas City Council Member Kevin Felder has been indicted on a third-degree felony in connection with a scooter crash.

Felder is accused of failing to stop and render aid after hitting a rider on a motorized scooter near Fair Park in February.

Police say the scooter rider was thrown from the scooter, his left arm was cut and his right arm was swollen. Police reported the teen pulled his scooter from under the car, and got into an argument with Felder. The report says a witness reported seeing Felder yelling from his window “Do you know who I am?” before driving away.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon Felder claimed he’s innocent but due process has to happen. “I asked that everyone please be patient, don’t pass judgement just because there’s been an indictment…I’m dissapointed in that but that process has to happen,” Felder said.

Felder, who represented South Dallas and parts of East Dallas denied these claims. He ran for a second term but did not make the runoff election.

The former councilman has been indicted on a felony charge of accident involving injury.
