Woman Accused of Trying to Snatch a Child at a Hurst Target Calls Police

Hurst, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Hurst Police are investigating reports that a woman tried to snatch a 1-year-old girl at target this week.

Officers were called about 3 p.m. Tuesday to the Target on Precinct Line Road, near Highway 183.

In an update posted to the Hurst Police Facebook page last night, the woman called the department and is cooperating with the investigation.

The initial incident was captured on surveillance video.

Police say a couple had been shopping with their daughter who was in a baby carrier in a shopping cart, when a woman reportedly grabbed the cart and walked away. The child was found in the store minutes later.

Police described the woman as white, age 55 to 70, with blond hair in a bob. She was wearing a navy blue shirt with white snowflakes, a royal blue jacket, blue jeans and light-colored sneakers. She left the store in a white 2007-14 GMC Yukon Denali.
