Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police say an officer seen on video carrying what appeared to be alcohol from a tornado ravaged liquor store, was trying to stop looting.
The video was captured by a WFAA-TV news crew covering storm damage early Monday morning; it was recorded from the TV broadcast and shared by a Facebook user.
The officer says he approached a woman with bottles in her hands, took them and put them on the ground.
Police say the officer was protecting the property of the business owner. The department also released a radio call for backup reportedly made about two minutes before the video began.
