President Trump Energizes Supporters at Dallas Campaign Rally

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – President Donald Trump was greeted by close to 20,000 people inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas for a campaign rally Thursday night. Thousands more watched the rally outside the arena.

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and Senator John Cornyn spoke to the crowd ahead of Trump’s arrival on stage. Both encouraged Texans to keep the state red amid threats from Democrats to turn it blue.

The President opened the evening by addressing the Texas economy. He said that since he entered office, 775,000 jobs have been created in Texas, including 70,000 manufacturing jobs. The President toured the new Louis Vuitton workshop in Johnson County hours before the rally.

“Democrats can’t win at the ballot box,” said the President. “We’re doing such a great job in this country.”

Trump referred to Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke several times throughout the rally, calling him “very dumb.” O’Rourke held a counter rally miles away from the Trump event in Grand Prairie.

Chants of “four more years” rang through the American Airlines Center when the President spoke about the push by Democrats to defeat him in 2020. Republican leaders in Texas were praised by the President.

“No one is going to be able to beat John Cornyn,” President Trump said.

The President mentioned former Texas Governor and current U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, who he said is leaving his post at the end of the year after three years in the Trump administration.

“He couldn’t have done a better job,” President Trump said.

Trump was given a standing ovation after speaking about removing U.S. troops from Syria.

“Bring our soldiers back home,” said the President.

He was praised Immigrantions and Customs and Enforcement agents for their work.

“My administration believes that the best way to keep foreign terrorists out of this country is to not let them in the first place,” Trump said.

A packed American Airlines Center reached its highest volume of the night when the President informed the crowd that they broke and attendance record. He acknowledged the tens of thousands of fans watching the rally from outside the arena.

“Donald Trump is not going to lose Texas, I can tell you that,” the President emphasized.
