Texas A&M Student From Frisco Dies of Injuries From Hit & Run Accident

College Station, TX  (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas A&M student from Frisco who was critically injured by a suspected impaired driver died from her injuries Sunday.
19-year old Carly Beatty was walking home with two roommates early Sept. 14 when she was hit by a car near campus.

Police say the 17-year old driver was drunk and on drugs.

On a Facebook medical fundraising page in Carly’s honor her family issued a heartfelt thank-you for the outpouring of support.

“After extensive surgeries and life-saving efforts, Carly lost her fight to recover from her injuries … words cannot describe our sorrow and feeling of loss.”

Pedro Damion Puga(Brazos County Sheriff’s Office)

Police say Pedro Damion Puga was drunk,and high on Xanax and cocaine before hitting Beatty.  Witnesses say he stopped to check for damage on his vehicle before taking off. He was caught after a brief foot chase.

Puga is reported to have told police that he could have outrun them if he had not taken the drugs earlier.
