SOUTHLAKE (WBAP/KLIF)- The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office released the cause of death of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs. The medical examiners report shows Skaggs died from an accidental overdose of drugs and alcohol. It says he had powerful painkillers Fentanyl and Oxycodone in his system along with alcohol and choked on his vomit. The 27-year-old pitcher was found dead in his Southlake hotel room July 1st while in North Texas for a four game series against the Texas Rangers. When news of his death broke the Angels tweeted: “Tyler has and always be an important part of the Angels family, our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carli and his entire family during this devastating time.”
Southlake police say they didn’t suspect foul play and also ruled out suicide.
