DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – While Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott continues to sit on the sidelines amid a contract holdout, his jerseys continue to sit on shelves unsold in Dallas sports memorabilia stores. Corey Durham of Signature Collectibles in Plano says his store has stopped ordering Elliott merchandise due to his uncertain situation with the team. He says any Zeke merchandise has sold poorly as well, barely moving from shelves. Other stores report that Zeke memorabilia doesn’t sell well anyway with collectors because Elliott does not like to sign jerseys with fans and is usually stand-offish in person. Neil Kay of Nick’s Cards and Memorabilia says the image seen of Ezekiel in the media is the correct one and fans are getting tired of it. WBAP contacted several merchandise stores about Elliott and some do report his jersey sales haven’t been affected too negatively by the holdout.
The Cowboys kick off the regular season a week from Sunday against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
