DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A recent study confirms staffing deficiencies within the Dallas Police Department.
Officials with the KPMG research firm concluded that the department needs better data keeping to make needed improvements. The study indicated that staffing issues couldn’t be resolved by simply hiring more Officers. KPMG Principal, Ian McPherson said a variety of improvements are needed.
“How they are performanced managed, how they work in partnership with other organizations, and how they therefore make an impact as broadly as they can for the communities they serve,” McPherson said.
Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said Monday that it’s a chance for the department to “hit the reset button.”
“When I see [the study] I think, let’s fast track,” said Chief Hall. “We have a playbook. Let’s get the right people in place to where we need to be so we can get this ship moving.”
Chief Hall said she hopes to have a five year strategic plan in place for the department by January.
