Plan Announced to Remove Crane That Fell on Deep Ellum Apartment Complex

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Residents of the Deep Ellum apartment complex where a crane fell during a storm two months ago are beginning to see the removal process pick up.

In a letter to residents, management at Elan City Lights says protection is being added to the surrounding concrete to protect the streets, and that two mobile cranes will soon be driven there and constructed on site.

The large crane will be dismantled by a cutting torch, with Dallas Fire monitoring the area 24-7.

Elan City Lights says the entire process should take about eight weeks, and that those still with belongings in inaccessible units will be able to get their stuff then.
