Arlington (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas’ new school security law requires all schools have Bleeding control kits beginning September 1, 2019 and no later than Jan 1, 2020.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, Pantego Christian Academy in Arlington recently received over 3000 kits from Fort Worth Firefighter Charities and Cook Children’s Hospital. Several other North Texas schools have already have the kits.
Sharon Evans with Cook Children’s says “It’s become very obvious that we need immediate responders, the first responders get there quickly but if there is an injury or shooting or something at the school, the teachers and staff right there can begin giving first aid.”
Cook Children’s says the kits will help prevent the loss of life in the event of a mass shooting or other serious emergency.
Today’s #EMSWeek theme of the day is #StopTheBleed In honor of this…we are going to have a little fun with the Twitter.
