A Cool Wet Spring Blamed in Part for the Baking, Dangerous August Temperatures

FORT WORTH – National Weather Service meterologists say a much wetter than normal spring caused more green growth, and caused it to last longer, causing in part higher humidity levels beyond what is normal for North Texas this time of year.  A break from the intense heat could come late Tuesday, with a chance of rain and a “cold front” meterologist Daniel Huckaby says, that will bring temperatures down to just below 100F.

We are looking with hope toward a chance of rain as well beginning Tuesday with that front.  Huckaby says temperatures are expected to climb Monday and Tuesday beyond this weekend’s temperatures of 100F or higher, with heat index temperatures to 110F.
