
ROANOKE (WBAP/KLIF) – An Oklahoma man wanted in the murder of his father is jailed in North Texas.
According to Roanoke Police, 21-year-old Jacob Barber was found early Wednesday morning sleeping outside of PetSmart, at 1208 Hwy 377 North in Roanoke. Officers arrived on scene and confronted Barber who was sleeping on his backpack up against the building. They ran his information, prompting his arrest.
“The murder warrant popped up and we placed him under arrest without incident,” Roanoke Police Spokesman Ryan Otero said.
Barber’s father was found stabbed to death in his Moore, Oklahoma home Saturday. It wasn’t long before he was named a suspect.
“He went from a person of interest to getting a warrant for Murder in the First Degree.
Barber is expected to be extradited back to Oklahoma.
