DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas police officer received minor injuries during an incident with fireworks Thursday night. Officers were responding to a fireworks call at an apartment complex on Overton Road in East Oak Cliff.
After they arrived someone shot fireworks at the police cruiser shattering the window.
The officer was cut by the shattered glass and taken to Methodist Central Hospital where he was treated and released.
Once arrested the suspect will be charged with aggravated assault on a public servant.
The squad car was also damaged from additional fireworks.
