Free PTSD Help at American Red Cross Seminar Saturday Morning.

ROWLETT –  WBAP/KLIF – The American Red Cross is hosting a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder seminar focusing on communications with family and friends.  The event is free and focuses on the often problematic issues of communicating distress, anxiety and depression with veterans, military members and anyone else suffering from PTSD who would like help.

Spokeswoman Bridgett Gooden says the events have helped thousands of PTSD sufferers nationwide, and are run by licensed mental health professionals.  Gooden says sometimes symptoms of PTSD do now evidence themselves for months or even years after going through or witnessing a traumatic event.

The free seminar runs from 9 am to 11 am at Rowlett’s Veterans Resource Center, 4210 Industrial Street, Building 100, Rowlett, 75088.

While service members are often naturally resilient, regular adjustment to new communities, dangerous jobs and reintegration with loved ones means stress and potential mental and emotional challenges.  The American Red Cross series of PTSD seminars is helping PTSD sufferers overcome symptoms and get through their often horrific experiences.
