DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Former Dallas Mayor Pro-Tem Dwaine Caraway is serving a nearly five-year prison sentence.
Caraway pleaded guilty to federal bribery and corruption charges and was sentenced to 56 months behind bars last month. He was given 30 days to report to prison. The deadline was Tuesday. After sentencing, Caraway said he regrets his crimes.
“If I had a crystal ball and would’ve only known,” said Caraway. “Things would be different.
Caraway admitted to accepting $450,000 in bribes and kickbacks that led to the demise of Dallas County Schools.
