Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas City Council member Philip Kingston not only now faces a runoff election June 8 to retain his seat, but also faces a hearing before the city’s Ethics Advisory Commission on May 28. He’s accused of violating the city’s code of ethics by aggressively pushing a zoning change that “would affect his own economic interests.” He allegedly lead a drive to allow accessory dwelling units, sometimes called mother-in-law suites or granny flats, in his neighborhood while he was pursuing a zoning permit to add a second story garage loft at his own home. He has denied doing anything improper.
