Dallas: E-Scooter Accidents Costing Hospitals Millions

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Those carefree E-scooter riders zipping along Dallas streets have racked hefty medical bill as a result of a growing number of accidents.

At Baylor Scott and White hospital alone, E-scooter injuries have totaled some $1.4-million dollars in less than a year; and, nearly $500-000 dollars of that was for uninsured trauma treatment; that, according to WFAA-TV.

Karen Mynar with Baylor told the station that among stats compiled between January through June, 35-percent of riders had brain injuries and none of the riders were wearing helmets.
Mynar will present her findings at a trauma center convention next week.
