Five Area City Mayors Recognized for Funding DFW 64 Mile Connector Trail

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Regional Transportation Council recognizes mayors from the five area cities for helping to fund a trail that will stretch 64 miles from Downtown Fort Worth to Downtown Dallas.

Mayors from Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Irving and Dallas have been a part of the Veloweb Trail since 2013.

Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams said this has been a vision for several decades. “The opportunity here for eco tourism and bringing our people together is phenomenal,” Williams said.

Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer said this trail is a great sales tool to promote the area. “This is something that we can be proud of, something that we can utilize for the businesses and family that come here,” Stopfer said. “It’s an opportunity for them
