IRVING (WBAP/KLIF) – The Republican National Committee is acknowledging African-American republican leaders this Black History Month.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel kicked off a month long national effort to highlight accomplishments in black communities at a luncheon Wednesday in Irving.
“Things are going very well around this country,” said McDaniel. “Black History Month gives us an opportunity to highlight the good things that are happening in the African American community.”
McDaniel said similar events will be held throughout the month across the country.
During his State of the Union Address Tuesday, President Trump said unemployment numbers for African Americans are at a record low.
