Four Dead Including Two Young Children; Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Feared.

DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Dallas Fire and Rescue reports finding the bodies of 4 people; 2 children and two adult men Sunday morning, in a home under construction in the 14 hundred block of Owega on the south side of Dallas.

The home owner reportedly told arriving rescue teams two men were working on the house, and a generator used for that purpose may have been brought into the home overnight to avoid its theft.    It’s unclear how long the generator was inside that home, but with no ventilation, it apparently ran long enough to build to fatal levels.

Firefighters confirmed the deaths in addition to the presence of carbon monoxide as well as its source.

DFR feels it important to use the tragedy as a teaching opportunity.  Known as The Invisible Killer, carbon monoxide has no color or odor, and is almost impossible to detect wtihout the use of a hand held or in home CO Detector/alarm.  Other sources include gas and charcoal grills.
