Abbott: ‘We’ll Get it Right’ on Voter Rolls

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Governor Greg Abbott says “We’ll get it right” when it comes to the accuracy of voter rolls in Texas.

This comes after some people the state had flagged as potential non-citizens on the voter rolls had actually verified their citizenship.

“It is essential that the Secretary of State, DPS, the counties, everybody with any authority over this whatsoever work collaboratively and swiftly together to make sure our voter rolls are accurate,” Abbott said.

The Secretary of State originally said 95,000 voters matched records of non-citizens who had obtained state IDs.

Already 18,000 voters on the list in the Houston area alone have been cleared.
