DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- DART is spearheading an awareness campaign to help stop Human Trafficking.
DART President Gary Thomas said it’s estimated that between 100,000 to 300,000 American Children are victims of Human Trafficking and transportation plays an important role in the illegal operation
“It’s a staggering number and it’s happening right under our noses,” he said. Over 3,000 DART employees are trained to identify and report the signs of Human Trafficking and ‘Safe Place’ logos are now on all DART vehicles to let people know it’s somewhere they can get help. “They know what to do and how to respond if someone comes up to them needing help… and people know they’re safe,” Thomas said.
DART also has informational pamphlets on services to keep the community aware of what to do when they see signs of Human Trafficking. Thomas Urges the community to look for the signs and report any suspicious activity.
