IRVING (WBAP/KLIF)- The Irving Police Department launches their Medication Disposal Program.
Officer James McLellan said people can drop off their unwanted medications at the station, anonymously.
The recovery resource council gave the department the box so Irving residents can have a chance to properly dispose of the medication. “With the intent to not throw it in trash or flushing down the toilet and thereby getting into our water supply and reducing the risk of drug abuse by having medications in cabinets,” McLellan said. It’s open 24/7 at the South Irving police station on North O’Connor Road. For more information visit: https://www.cityofirving.org/3366/Medication-Disposal-Program
