DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas has filed a lawsuit against Blue Star Recycling.
According to the city, Dallas Environmental Quality & Sustainability, Dallas Water Utilities, and the Dallas Marshals Office conducted an inspection at Blue Star Recycling Thursday. The inspection team observed large-scale illegal dumping and industrial waste being dumped into the Citys storm sewer system in violation of the Citys stormwater permitting requirements.
The City Attorneys Office filed a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order with Dallas County Courts, citing severe issues and risk to the environment. The city said Friday that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is continuing its investigation which began on October 9, to understand whether the site is recycling materials at all.
