WYLIE (WBAP/KLIF) – The Wylie Police Department attempts to stop porch pirates in a unique way.
Starting November 30th-December 23rd, citizens can send their holiday packages to the Wylie Police Department. Someone from the department will be on hand to secure them until residents pick them up.
Nuria Aroyo with the Wylie Police Department said this is the first year they’re offering the free service to stop package thieves.

Then, email Officer Arroyo at [email protected] to let her know your order is on the way and provide contact information. Packages can be picked up Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday from 8a.m-5 p.m.. They’re also accepting pick up on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
People can pick up their packages during normal business hours – Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Also make sure to have proof of your order and ID. Packages addressed to children will require proof of guardianship.
