Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A Colorado woman has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines alleging that it over-served a drunk passenger who raped her during a flight.

The woman, Aubrey Lane, claims American “failed in its duty to protect her and other passengers by allowing a visibly drunk man to board a June 16, 2017 Red-eye flight from Phoenix to New York.” The suit contends that a man who was allegedly already drunk when he boarde, was served as many as six alcoholic drinks during the flight. Lane also makes the claim that the man harassed her throughout the flight, and followed her the restroom where she says he sexually assaulted her.

The complaint, filed Wednesday reads in part, “Despite the obvious obnoxious, aggressive, threatening and intoxicated behavior American offered no protection.”

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Fort Worth-based carrier has not yet to receive the lawsuit.
