Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – The pro-Ted Cruz Super PAC ‘Texans Are’ is behind an ad accusing Cruz’s U.S. challenger of ‘welcoming’ the caravan of Central American migrants.
The ad accuses O’Rourke of saying “there is too much border security.”
“The caravan is coming, some say criminals among them, but there’s Beto O’Rourke cheering them on, welcome in stay while.”
On the issue of immigration, O’Rourke has said, “We don’t need a wall,” … “There are better ways to control immigration.”
He has told a number of media organizations and that he and Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn have worked on a bill to invest in ports of entry.
Meantime, five days before the 2018 midterm elections, a new poll shows incumbent Ted Cruz and with a diminishing lead over O’Rourke.
The UT-Tyler poll released Wednesday, shows Cruz’s lead over O’Rourke has narrowed to 3.6 percent. And according a poll conducted by conservative-leaning Dixie Strategies, to 52 percent to 42 percent among likely voters in the poll.
