Increase in Registered Voters Tarrant, Collin County

(WBAP/KLIF)- Don’t miss out on voting in the Midterm Elections, the voter registration deadline is October 9th.

Elections Administrator for Tarrant County Heider Garcia says they’ve seen a spike in registration compared to other years. ” There’s certainly heightened interest in races and events out there that are driving more people to go to polls compared to other Midterm Elections,” Garcia said.

He said you can pick up a card at city halls, libraries and says Tarrant County staff will be on sight at every sub courthouse to help.

Elections Administrator for Collin County Bruce Sherbert said they’ve added about 20 temps to accommodate the surge of last minute voters. “We’re getting about 1,000 a day right now which is a healthy number, we are expecting to get about 583,000 registered voters in Collin County,” Sherbert said.

You can get an application at the Elections Office, City Halls, libraries or can print it online at votetexas.gov and mail it as long as it’s post marked by October 9th.
