Data Breach Discovered at Cheddar’s Restaurants

UNDATED (WBAP/KLIF) – Credit and debit card customers of Cheddar’s restaurants in Texas and 22 other states may have had to information compromised in a cyber-attack.

Company officials say more than 500-thousand cards may have been exposed.

The feds notified Cheddar’s Florida-based parent company Darden Restaurants last week to inform them of the breach, which they believe happened between November 3, 2017 and January 2, 2018.

The company posted a Notice of Unauthorized to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Guest Data on its website.

The Dallas Morning News reports, diners who ate at any Cheddar’s restaurant last November, December or early January can call 1-888-258-7280 for more information about the identity protection services available to them.

States affected include: in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
