Dallas ISD Trustees Approve Tax Hike, Voters Decide in November

By a 7-1 vote, Dallas Independent School District trustees have approved a measure to put a 13 cent tax hike before voters in November.  The tax hike would raise another $126 million dollars every year for the district.

It would offset the $65 million the district now returns to the state, because of property value rises in the state’s “Robin Hood” funding forumla, that pulls money from wealthier districts.

If you’re a homeowner in Dallas ISD, the increase could cost you another $240 on a $185,000 valued home.
