Google Partners with Collin College to Help Increase I.T. Workers Amid National Shortage

MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF News) – Students at Collin College are getting the chance to take I.T. classes from Google.

The technology giant and the college have partnered to increase the number of I.T. workers amid a national shortage.

Collin College’s Dr. Ann Beheler said five classes in Google’s I.T. Certificate Program will be offered at some point in the fall.

“Google is a major in the I.T. industry. It’s definitely important to be aligned with the Google certificate,” she said.

Students who complete the program will have chances to interview with at least 20 high-profile I.T. companies through the partnership.

Some of the companies include Sprint, Bank of America, Hulu, GE Digital, 10 companies under the Walmart umbrella and Google itself.
