(WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas gymnastics coach is charged with sexually assaulting young girls.
The allegations stem from Crawley’s time as a coach at Sokol Gymnastics in Fort Worth, where he’s now suspended.
“He’s been suspended from the second that the allegations were made,” said Attorney Russ Prince, who represents the gym. “Not only did they do that but they went about the process of properly reporting.”
Prince said the gym supports a full investigation but it believes the accusations could be misleading.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, Crawley was wanted by FWPD on charges of Sexual Abuse of a Child/Continuous, and two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. FWPD Fugitive Unit/USMS Task Force began an investigation to locate Crawley. Officers received information he may be in Indianapolis, Indiana. Officers contacted the USMS Task Force in that area and requested assistance in locating Crawley. Officers of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force developed information that Crawley was at that time at a residence in Indianapolis. A warrant was executed on the residence, and Crawley was taken into custody without incident.
Crawley is being held at the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville, Indiana, pending extradition to Texas.
