Updated: A Second Collapse at a Parking Garage in Irving

Update: The Irving Fire Department is reporting a second collapse at a parking garage in Irving.  The initial

collapse was reported about 1130 this morning, and the secondary collapse was around 4p.m.

Irving Fire Department’s Assistant Chief Jack Taylor said “The second collapse was in the ‘no go zone’, and it was the very first section next to the section that had original collapsed, so we never let anybody under that area.”

At this time, Mr. Taylor said there are still no injuries reported.

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF) -More than 20 cars have been damaged during a parking garage collapse in Irving.  The Irving Fire Department reports approximately a 40′ x 40′ foot section of the second floor collapsed onto the the first floor.  According to the Irving Fire Department, a preliminary and secondary search were conducted.  K-9 dogs were used for one of the searches, but no one was found dead or injured in the debris.

The collapse happened at 4545 Fuller Drive about 11:30a.m., and first emergency personnel were on scene at 11:38a.m. It is the office of The Visiting Physicians Association.
