FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Fort Worth plans on renovating the popular West 7th district once again. Many of the roads in the area were changed to one-ways earlier this month in an effort to keep the area safer and less chaotic during the night life. The city presented the plans to remove all on-street parking at the first of three public meetings Monday night. The removed parking will be replaced with shared bike and bus lanes.
“The street parking is their best option and so its inconvenient I suppose to eliminate it if you aren’t going to be at a business. You’re just like using it for another purpose,” said Andrew Steffen who visits the area often.
However Steffen is also from Wisconsin and said that bike lanes have been working for them.
“They have a lot of bike lanes for them and so its just apart of being in a big city. Just accommodating people, so I think that’s appropriate,” said Steffen.
