Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The State Fair has released its list of semi-finalists for this year’s Big Tex Choice Awards; or, as you may know it, the fried food competition.
Like last year, it’s divided into a savory and sweet category.
Highlighting the savory division: Deep Fried Bodacious Bacon Bombs, Fried Kool-Aid Pickles, and Deep Fried Ranch, among others.
On the sweet side: Cotton Candy Tacos, Deep Fried M&M, and something called “Orange You Glad We Fried It?!”
Last year, the Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger and Gulf Coast Fish Bowl won awards.
Ten finalists in each category this year will be released in mid-August.
